Last conference of Discuss Agile Network in the year 2016!!
After the successful completion of Hyderabad conference, we travelled to Pune on that very night only. Discuss Agile Day Pune was scheduled on the very next day i.e. on November 27, 2016 at Hotel Four Point by Sheraton. It was bit tiring, but after getting the overwhelming response from the Pune agile community, all I can say it was worth the hard work!!
Though I had visited Pune several times before, this time was the best one!! I got chance to connect back to my old friends Debasis, Atulya, Rahul, Sriharsha, Manju, Alhad, Pooja and many more. It was nice meeting to my long time interenet friend Poonam in person 🙂
The day started with the keynote session by Discuss Agile Network’s founder Saket Bansal, who is also the Founder and Director of iZenBridge Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. Saket addressed the changes in a leader’s role while working with agile. He described how the mixture of predictive life cycle planning and monitoring approach AND adaptive life cycle execution creates a deadly cocktail.
Once again I facilitated the event as a master of ceremony 🙂
150+ agile practitioners and aspirants participated in the conference, while 20 experienced speakers shared their agile knowledge and ideas. Some of the distinguished speakers were Rahul Sudame from Persistent Systems, Sriharsha from Wipro Technologies, Alhad Akole and Sharmila Patwardhan from Zensar Technologies, Manjunatha, Vijay Wade from Siemens and Sridharan Vembu from ThoughtWorks.
Chief guest Mark Lines, Co-creator of Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD) was present at the event and delegates got a chance to ask their queries on Disciplined Agile to him directly. Few people were lucky enough to get a copy of the book “Introduction to Disciplined Agile Delivery” signed by Mark Lines. After the scheduled sessions, I conducted an open space session of 1 hour, where many people who were not speakers but wanted to take part in the session, got opportunity to speak and have group discussion on their preferred topics. This was my first experience of conducting an open space session and I was bit worried how it will go, but in the end I was happy, it went well and we got many new insights from each other.
The day also included many fun games, lucky draw contest, and social media contests. At the closing ceremony along with other closing announcements the winners got many surprize gifts and prizes 🙂
Indeed a great experience it was!! Kudos to all speakers and delegates for their active participation. Special thanks to our organizing team members, without whose help and support it wouldn’t have been possible to make this session successful. Thanks Debasis, Atulya, Sriharsha, Rahul, Alhad, Poonam, Giri 🙂 you all have a done a fabulous job in running the show well.
A big thanks to all our sponsors: iZenBridge Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., Scrum Alliance, PMI, Disciplined Agile Delivery Consortium and Lean Kanban University for supporting us in making this conference a great success!!
Last but not the least, I must mention the names of the three very special persons, without whose continuous help and support DiscussAgile events wouldn’t have been a success. Thank you Saket, Abha and Imran for being my strength throughout the journey 🙂
As we say, all good things come to an end. With this special event, the conference schedule of the very special year 2016 has also come to an end.
We will be back with the new event calendar for year 2017 soon. Till then stay connected 🙂
